Below are photos of the students painting their salt dough Earth's Layers models that they made. It was a fun time! We worked with our salt dough today to make a model of Earth's layers. Once it is completely dry, students will be able to paint their model. Thanks for bringing in the dough!
Please study for tomorrow's redo quest! I apologize for not posting on Friday about our song of the week from last week
Tori picked our song last week. She chose Oingo Boingo "Weird Science" because it is a song that her and her dad love listening to together. It was a fun song to hear last week. Thank you Tori! We had reading buddies today so did not have an opportunity to start our Earth's Layers project. Some students will need to add more flour to their salt dough to make it less sticky. The consistency of the dough should be Play-Doh like. Students will be taking a Chapter 2 Quest Redo on Wednesday. Study! Students took their first "Quest" today. (Quest = in between a quiz and test in size, counts as a quiz) We will be making a model of Earth's layers on Monday. Students need to bring in 1-2 batches of Salt Dough on Monday. Recipe was sent home with students today.
Students learned about density and why things can float in water and why water and oil don't mix. Check out a few pictures of our "Which liquid is more dense" experiment. More photos are found in the pictures folder through the "Handouts" link.
It's time to review for chapter 2! (We skipped chapter 1).
