No homework this weekend, however students are encouraged to begin studying for a chapter "Quest" (longer than a quiz, shorter than a test) next week. We will have review time in class next week. We started a new activity this week in homeroom called "Music Monday". This is a time where we get to share music that has a meaningful message. This week's pick was Mrs. Jones's - "In Our Blood" by Tyrone Wells. It talks about how everyone is wanting to be loved and show love and how we are made to do that. "Love is in our veins, its in our blood". Take a listen :)

NO homework tonight :) Encourage your student to go to JHub! :D Students should work on the Earth Systems note page if they do not think 7 minutes in class tomorrow will be enough time to finish.
Students need to finish the Pattern Circle by filling out life events in the blue sections and season patterns in the orange/yellow sections.
I also returned the Otzi Questions for students to make corrections on. This is optional for the student. They will receive a 1/2 point back for each question corrected. Please complete on a separate sheet of paper and staple to the original homework. Check out the Pictures folder from the "Handouts" link (located on the right) to see photos of our first time with our reading buddies! The students had time to read books with their first grade buddies. Everyone seemed to enjoy their time together :) Enjoy the weekend! Homework for science - complete the Otzi Questions, book may be helpful to answer questions.
We had chapel buddies today with Mrs. Hall's 1st grade class! We will be chapel buddies and reading buddies with them this year. Our first reading buddy time will be this Friday. Look for pictures later this week :) We had our first quiz today and the students did well! Science is one of those subjects that you just have to study and memorize things, so please encourage your student to study, even on the days we don't have quizzes/test. :)
We began watching a documentary about the "Iceman" - a mummy that was naturally preserved in ice! We will finish the video tomorrow and discuss the scientific process used when studying him. There is no homework for tonight. We made it to the end of our first week! Hooray! The only homework over the weekend is to study for their SI Base Units quiz that will be on Tuesday 9/20. Below are the units they will be quizzed on. Enjoy the weekend! Sept. 13 - Lesson Outline due THURSDAY. Students are encouraged to work on the homework today and tomorrow so they are not overwhelmed by the assignment Wednesday night.
Sept 12 - Complete lab coat, including coloring/decorating
We started off great last week! Everyone worked hard and was on task all week. Let's keep that up for this week! We will be getting more into the book and lessons for this science week.
